The logo of the Stanford's Space Rendezvous Laboratory (SLAB) is intended to represent graphically the vision and mission of the laboratory.
This is done through three elements: the word “Space”, the word “Rendezvous”, and the symbol “*S”. “Space” reflects the fact that the laboratory’s research is dedicated to spaceborne technologies. “Rendezvous” is used as a very concise synonym of multi-satellite systems or distributed space systems. These space architectures include rendezvous as a major component. “*S” represents the path or trajectory of Stanford to the stars.
Ultimately SLAB is conceived as a space for students, researchers, professors, and staff to first rendezvous on Earth, at Stanford!
